alternator and power steering problem

I have a 2000 dodge 1500, and last night the power steering and alternator stopped working for me. Now I can't even lock my doors. does anyone know where I should start looking to fix this problem. Any help is much apreciated.

It's odd that they would both quit at once. Is the belt still in place?
