Need recommendation for heavy duty tow rig

Hi,

I'm looking for recommendations for a heavy duty tow rig.  I want to tow a 12,000lb Bobcat plus about 2,000lbs in accessories.

My requirements are:

The truck must be able to tow this weight (or more) with no problems.

I would like a truck that I can do as much maintenance myself as possible.

I would like a truck with an extended or crew cab.

I will get a trailer with electric brakes.

I plan to install a Goose neck or Fifth wheel hitch.

I am willing to modify the truck as necessary but I don't want to turn this into a major project. Transmission cooler, suspension upgrades, etc. are fine but I don't want to do anything like swapping axles.

If it were me I'd look for a '94-'98 Dodge Ram 3500 with the Cummins diesel and the five-speed manual transmission.
