w150 dodge or plymouth prospector, should have a torque flite 727 aluminum trans with i think an np208 t-case. i had one. mine had the 318.
its ok to run without your kickdown cable for a little while, but make sure you know what you're doing if you decide to kickdown on the column by yourself. its not good for your trans if you are low in the gear and really pushing her, either, so get it fixed soon if she is your daily driver.
don't stress, a lot of guys wont answer if they don't know. sometimes it takes a week to get a response on a question like yours. not too many guys run 80's dodges. and most people dont know they are called a w150.

k i did some research and bands are an internal part of your transmission, sounds like it may be time for a rebuild. heres a link that explains it a little better with some pictures. great explanations of how the kickdown bands work, as well as more photos of the bands by themselves.

allpar has some great articles on 727 history as well as a lot of old mopar articles.

thanks for your help bro but i found a completely restored 82 exactly like mine and it had a kick down rod! so again i went to the dealership and told them i needed a kick down rod and argued with 3 diff. managers each saying i didn't have one originally... 1 thing lead to another and i told them just to rebuild it than and i would wait! sat there for 40 min and the mechanic came out to me and said your trans is fine you just need a kick down rod!!!!!! so again i went to parts and asked for it and they said we don't carry it! it would be a 3 week wait for it. so i went to the next best place!) The junkyard paid 3 bucks for the rod and hole assembly!

I know this is an old post but I was just surfing for dodge stuff and read this. I have an 86 W150 with the 727 torqueflite. Just rebuilt it with the help of a you tube video made from the guys at SOUTH WEST AUTOMATICS out of Australia. Very good video with details for the entire rebuild. Search for it on you tube with "727 torqueflite rebuild" and look for the video with the guy in the blue sweatshirt. They also have the whole video (it's a 19 or 20 part video) on their website at chryslertransmission.com.au. The one he rebuilds is for a 600HP car but I did mine stock. Including the rebuild kit from RockAuto and the tranny fluid I spent less than $200. My first tranny rebuild (since school 20+ years ago) and it works like new again. I want to do another one just for fun now!! Thinking about getting one at a scrap yard and then selling it on craigslist. Not interested in making a profit, just love wrenching.
