Had a blast once again this year,  aside from a slow start  due to technical difficulties we were off and running. Doc almost made it to the trail when his turbo imploded,  the long travel group took off first and within an hour into the wash Joshs truck overheated and had motor damage.  after waiting around for a while at the mouth of afton canyon there was a sort of plan and the group started moving again.  afton was very low on water this year. the crossing was more of a puddle.  into the desert and into the dunes we had a good time crossing into the dry lake.  (lots of new fences in the area)    we ran to the camp site and settled in for the night. hours later Rico, doc, josh justin kai james and silvia showed up after getting joshes truck to peggy sues and getting all of Docs gear in james truck.   day 2 we ran and checked out the lava tube

after that several rigs went to baker to fuel up and we all met at the mail box.

from there we bypassed the woops section and hit all headed to the electrical station.
somehow the mog and james got seperated on the highway and they took the main road to the rock house,  the rest of the group headed to the globe mine.

we jumped back on the road to the rock house and missed rico and james by about an hour.  so we headed to joshua tree trail.   Justin sheared a light off his windshield and broke his windshield,  John bent a knuckle so bad his tire was rubbing the upper ball joint. craig rear reivoir popped off its mount and was hanging by the resi line.  he also lost his CB antenna.  i think adam bent a rim or two in there and others had minor scratches and dents lol

from there we headed to laughlin we got in at 730 8pm.

day 2 only 3 of us,
jason, brian and myself headed back via dirt.   it was a very fast trip back and we toured the southern pass. even trail blazed through some dunes when the road dissappeared.  we got in from the trail about 6hours of drive time.

post your pics vids and stories.   had a blast guys cant wait to do it again

Very fun trip! Thanks for letting me tag along again. My jeep felt great, better than ever. Only had a few issues, which can be easily fixed. The rear needs a little more bumpstop. The shocks were bottoming out. The front passengers side prothane got jammed onto the upper bumpstop post, so I was stuffing the tire into the fender. My right rear tire now has a bulge in it, good thing I have "road hazard" coverage on those tires. After hitting a rock in the Joshua trees, I had a clunk in my steering. Turned out just to be a loose trackbar bolt. Oh yea, and the smashed windshield! After I hit that rock, the jeep shot left and I tried to stop. Slid into a branch and slowly watched my windshield shatter. Also broke the bolt that holds my windshield light onto the mount. Other than that, the jeep did great and was mechanically sound the entire time, even with me driving it like a bat out of hell at times. Drove home great despite the crazy winds, dust storms, and pouring rain. Sesar and I drove out together. We planned on catching up with the rest of the group, but got delayed. Sesar's jeep was clunking in the front when he hit the brakes. Ended up being a loose upper control arm and a bushing on its last leg. The axle was rotating forward when he stopped. Got that taken care of and hit the road.

Oops

Fed the frog some cheese

Hit a fast section and got the Jeep up to 72mph, felt stable. Don't need to do that again though haha

Ouch

I had a great time in a truck built just for this trip in too little time. It held together and the comradre was great as usual. I forgot to take too many pics but here's a few.

Found a jump on the way back

Even got the pig off the ground, kind of hard to get this thing up. My guess is 5700 btw

Hey you got the tires up!

The pic of us coming up on the long road is sweet. Definitely stealing that one.

But here are some of the pics I took.

You can see all the photos here,

I'll post up the videos in a couple days.

Hey Rico,

Is there a trip that you don't tow a broken down rig?
