Alright Im just curious because I haven't been around much 4x4 before....if I buy shocks that are up to a 2.5" lift if it'll help raise my truck any??? Or will it just be a crap idea and they'd wear out faster for trying to hold up my trucks total weight? Also any ideas for a cheap but good leveling kit? Want to go up to 33's....I have a 1999 Chevy 1500...

Simply changing your shocks will not lift your truck.

There are several leveling kits available for your model truck.

Ok thats really helpful. Now are the leveling kits only gonna be torsion bar ones? Also is that something I'd have to have help with to get them out?

It will typically be a set of torsion keys. There is a special tool available to help with installation. I have no idea if you need help because I don't know what your mechanical skills are or what tools you have, sorry.
HERE is what the keys look like. Pretty much every lift manufacturer offers them.

ok, this is the million dollar question.... its a fact that if u raise your torsion bars. it will put your front axles at a sharp angle and bind them and break them. ok, if that's the case wont a set of "leveling keys" do the same??? could you or sombody explain this to me? it would help me allot. thanks
