I suppose I can't let Warthog have the only TTC build thread in here. No top secret plans for TTC just bigger axles and bigger tires.

Last minute play in the yard before tear down.

Began stripping body panels.

The panels are wall art now.

I will get some progress pics up in the coming days. The D60 has been mostly parted out and the Rockwell is sitting in its place.

A quick run down on upgrades in the works,

2 1/2 ton Rockwells
Ouverson shafts front and rear
Ruff Stuff links and brackets
DIY4X boot gaurds and mohawk
PSC Hydro steering
Stazwork double beadlocks
FOA Coilovers and Air bumps
plus much more as I get closer to finishing it up.

Nice . So are you staying with one steer one straight axle? Or are you going to try front and rear steer?  You know you kind of scared me when you mentioned you'll be seeing me in 7 months.

Those panels were on the tube doors.

I am staying with one steer axle for now, I would love to have rear steer. I felt it was a better choice to put the money into a bullet proof single steer setup then try and run a stock front and rear set up. It starts adding up quick when upgrading 2 steer axles.

Sorry for scaring ya, didn't mean to sound like an E-stalker...It's going to be a great time. Whoever gets voted in this year to compete with us is going to have a blast.

are you still gonna be orange with the racing flag paint on the back and what tires are you going to run? big old 53 baja claws or 53 inch boggers

I think you made a good choice. My rear steer caused me nothing but headaches. Now it works well but I'm pretty rusty with it. A solid drivetrain is better than any gadgets. It's great that you're gonna post a TTC build here. I think this is where they belong. On your build what's a ruff stuff link? Since I'm for the most part a one man shop I don't get a anytime to check other stuff out. I'm just curious.

I will repaint the truck orange, the color just seams to work good on the rig. It was actually orange from the factory long ago so it is a fitting color. I'll spray paint something back onto it like the flag. I have had lots of people say they liked the look.

As for tires, I will be happy to run TTC Claws if they offer is there.

I had a few phone conversations with Dan from Ruff Stuff Specialties and discussed my build with him and he chose to help me out even though I wont be able to run any of his decals during the event. Basically I am running his rockwell 4 link brackets front and rear and 1 1/4 heims. These are brackets I could have made myself but having them done and weld ready will save me lots of time.

Here is how the axles looked when I picked them up.

Began the tear down on the trailer. These things were too heavy to unload by hand without disassembling first. I removed teh hubs to get to the drums. I stripped all the brake hardware in favor of pinion brakes.

Then removed the center sections.

Next was to get them inside so I could begin the clean up on the housings.

The original plan was to run stock rockwells with maybe chromoly up grades so I began cleaning up the old parts by sandblasting and painting the misc parts.

Then TTC 2011 happened and I saw all the carnage that occured. I knew stock stuff would not work and decided to go bigger. The stock parts are being swapped out by 2" ouverson shafts. Randy is making these parts as I type.

I am also adding a little ground clearance by installing som DIY4X mohawks. I went with the unwelded kit. This is one stout kit. I have no doubts on the strength this cover will have.

A couple shots of welding it together.

If I didn't have a deadline looming these are all parts I could make on my own, but having the basic stuff done really helps speed upthe progress. Time is something I am short on. I work full time plus a little more than I should and am enrolled in an associates program so I really do find time is in short supply.

To protect the front boots I got a set of boot gaurds from DIY4X. Again these things look great.

A little bit of luck on my side? I find one of these every now and again when walking from the shop to the house. I'll take all the help I can get.
