Head lights on constantly

I have a 2002 S10 LS. I know it has the day time driving lights. But, no matter the postion of the headlamp switch, whether it be day or night, all the lights stay on. Could it be the headlamp switch, the DTD light sensor on top of the dash, module, relay...?

Appreciate any response.

Safety feature of the vehicles post 99 I believe. Vehicles after that date were supposed to have safety lights on all the time unless the vehicle was shut off, both of my cars have it, jeep doesn't its a 97.

Canada has a law like that but the US does not. Vehicles in the US are not required to have DRL's. That said I know a '99 S10 that does the same thing. Seems odd. Why even have a switch?
