four axles to a single chassis?

Crazy idea?

I was wondering if you could take a 1 ton chevy, toss two rear rockwells, two front rockwells, on supple springs mounted alternately inside and outside (1st from front in, 2nd out, 3rd in, 4th out) as close as possible together without springs and tires interfering with each other, and run hydro steering, would yo end up with a tank like platform that could tackle almost anything while keeping a low center of gravity?

i figure ive got resources to do it, neighbor owns a transport truck wrecking yard, and has three 2.5 ton trucks (one even has dents and holes from small arms fire). he's a good friend of my dad's, and is one of those "what the heck, why not?" sort of guys.

anyone think this can be done? would be pretty cool dont ya think?
