B&M on an auto?

Im in the market for a chevy k10. I would like a granny trany 4spd, but i have seen a lot of nice trucks with autos. I plan on bogging with this truck. would an automatic be good? I would put a B&M shifter on it because i want gear selection.  

my buddy just pulled the 4 speed granny out of his 79 blazer and put a turbo 350 in it man it sucked the power out of it big time. That granny gear is realy nice for wheelin in my opinion. wed go out and when my truck struggled up a hill or some rocks he could literaly drop it in granny in four low get out and watch his truck climb just about anything at idle. it was pretty badass. if it was me id def go with the manual with granny.  

I know exactly what u mean. This weekend i drove the same setup, granny tranny and 4LO. I put it in lo and it just went. Didn't stall once, and just keep climbing.
