Spring shackle problem

When I replaced the rear leaf spring bushings on 1995 Nissan 4x4 the shackle folds up to the frame towards the rear. The spring doesn't appear to be bent. Any ideas?

Research seems to indicate the spring is too long. I guess I need to do some measuring and comparing it to other spring.
