Per the Dec. 2009 issue, you are looking for feedback on what a Top Truck is, or at least what one should be considered going forward. There are many ways to define a a truck, some would argue that a Jeep's (TJ/CJ) etc. are not trucks, others that a Honda (whatever it is) is not a truck, but they are all minimally either uni-body or on frame vehicles. Tube based buggies are just that buggies. So IMO you need to call it Tough Truck and perhaps Tough Buggy, but not lump them all into the same category.

there seems to be more buggys coming up than built trucks. i agree that the rigdeline is not a truck. i dont call the avalance a TRUE truck either. i thnk "trucks" should at least be a framed vechile. jeeps and trucks alike. and other SUVs.

I'd have to agree with the mo frame not a truck statement, also buggys are buggys along with most truggys, they are not true trucks, I beleive a truck is a framed vehical that still resembels a truck or SUV (K5, Scout, Bronco) not one of these creations with the sheetmetal off of a truck scabed over a tube chassis, although I respect the people who put a lot of time, money and engineering into their rigs with tube chassis-bodies under truck sheetmetal dosn't really make it a truck but a truggy, this may be just my opinion but I am sure that there are others out there that share my point of view on this.
It's NOT what you buy, It's what you Build so build it big or leave it on the trailer

no doubt that the engineering, time, money and fabrication is something to be respected. ideally it should be trucks competing in Top Truck Challenge. but this is not the case. i think these buggys and truggys are going to be a continuing trend considering the infinite possibilities. it would be nice to see framed vechiles back at the top. whether it be a jeep, any truck, or any framed SUV.
