Mojave Rd 2010 - 03/18-20/2010

So it's almost that time of year, time to start planning for the annual Mojave Rd trip. On the Ranger Forum we started out going with it's bad luck to start the thread since the starter always seems to bow out of the ride, but it seems to be good luck on this forum. I hope.
The running theme seems to be around St. Patrick's day, which falls on a Wednesday this year. I was thinking March 18-20 weekend. The format of leaving Slash X on Thursday morning and hitting the trail seems to keep the traffic down, so save up those vacation days! A night in the cinder cones and finish Friday in Laughlin keeps the slow guys up with the fast guys and makes plenty of time to see the historic sites. Saturday morning starts a fast ride back to Barstow in one shot for those capable, or a leisurely cruise back on the freeway with a stop in Baker to see the world's largest thermometer for the more, um scenic, type.
Leaving your tow rig at Slash X hasn't been an issue yet and it's free for the weekend. Plenty of water, food, and gas is strongly suggested. We're spending 1 night on the trail and doing almost 250 miles off-road. Tools and a spare tire or 2 would be highly recommended. A CB or Ham radio is nice. A night in Laughlin on March 14th is about $40, we can discuss which hotel later, Jason knows best.
So... Is anybody in? Any suggestions for improvements? The trail is passable for most medium clearance, 4wd veahicles. Expect whoops, sand, rocks, joshua tree dodging, and epic terrain.

TDS is typically the first weekend in March or last weekend in February. Where's George, he would know when exactly the 2010 one is.

Did somebody say Carne Asada? Or did I just dream that? Great, now I'm hungry.
