so i figured out why my tahoe (2wd) has been losing coolant. any one know a shop thats cheap and reliable. near the 562   head job

He's been our family shop for ages.  Reasonable, quick and if it doesn't need fixing he will tell you stright up.

i dont really have the time, i work reg job during the week and DJ on the weekends. ya 1000 is a fair price including the valve job but i think it still maybe out of my budget

Why not just look for a motor from a salvage yard?

could be head gasket but maybe something cracked/warped......

so update on my tahoe.  i bought some gasket sealer $29. 2 oil changes $40 ( 1st one i did my self because it was hydro locked from all the coolant going in the oil.  2nd sent to easylube). engine flush 3.99, new coolant $60 delco red stuff. saving over 1000 bucks priceless

oooh, interesting, I didn't know they had stuff like that

do you think it will last? the pressures are usually pretty high for things like that, I don't know if I would trust it long term

but I hope it works out for you, that would be awesome!

it looks like copper and metal particales and the bottle says it has fibers. so theres a bottle that is 9.99 that you have to flush all the coolant out and run water and this stuff and then once its done flush again and add coolant. the one that i got stays in with the coolant works kinda like fixa flat and its 29 bucks.  this stuff has been out for years but it doesnt work on large holes. i hope all that made sense. i figure ill get get at least another year out of it
