im having all kinds of problems with the IFS in my 95 chevy 1500. i heard that you can swap out basically all of the front axle components from a heavy duty 2500 or 3500 model of the same year. can or would this even work? and would it be worth the time and effort? i dont do any real extreme rock crawling, i usually just ride trails and mud, i dont have the kind of money for a solid axle swap...any help would be appreciated.

Negative. The 2500's have a different frame. I do believe, 95 may be different but I don't think so.

That's what I was trying to say... because the frames are different the mounting points will be different meaning that they will not just bolt on. And if they do it's likely they are the same part to begin with.
