well if your guna go through the trouble of this then you should do a solid axle swap. if your guna wheel it, than this is the better option. these guys mite be able to help if they are still active: http://3leaffab.com/

they do chevy and gmc since they were practically the same. contact them for more info. i was going to do this to my 01 crew cab s10 but they dont offer the kit for that new of a vechile. good luck. hope this helps.
