Took apart my cooling system and found my water pump to be in pretty crappy shape even though its only a couple years old.  so that was a *** to remove and install.
re sealed my leaky tstat housing.  and replaced the serpantine belt i ordered like 4 months ago.
THeeeen I had to work on a new issue that sounded like dry gears clanking.  popped the rear diff and all was good.  jacked up the front diff to spin everything and heard a clunk.  removed the driveshaft.   ended up being the Drive shaft double cardon joint is toast.  time to rebuild that and the jeep will be good to go.

Good job brotha, I replaces my upper ball joint today. Turns out that noise was not the ball joint, dang. It seems when I turn sharply, the front end makes a loud and hard clunk sound. I looked at everything but all seems tight. I guess I need to bring it over so we can look at is very thoroughly.

Sorry I didn't make it over... parents offered lunch (never turn down a free meal), which got me suckered into Costco, then my driver ended up in second place in the NASCAR race so I got caught up in watching the last 100 laps or so of that... lol... pretty typical Sunday I guess...

Glad it's just the shaft and not something worse, that should be an easy fix.

I went up to big bear sunday, and my durango really overheated so i had to keep pulling over, i hope i didn't warp a head or killed a gasket, but i really gotta fix my issue too..

My noise is a hard clunk when turning fast into a driveway or turning hard at a good speed. I looked on zr2usa.com and others had similar issues and said it was their control arm bushings gone bad.  looked at mine and they did look pretty worn, so that could explain it. I have decided against the sfa for now and will be doing an ifs lift, so I can have the bushings changed when thats done. Im also THINKING about trading my truck in for a 2003 jeep grand cherokee. I like their look when fixed up and like their room (almost a jk ulmtd). Let me know what you think. Pros and Cons por favor.

this is a nice one

ultrapc40:

2005. The Grand went to IFS with the WK (current model). The WJ (1999-2004) was still a real Jeep (lol).

Grands are awesome! They have all the capabilities of an XJ and more and a nice luxurious interior. The coil rear suspension is nice. If you get one get the V8 though, the 4.0 is good... but V8 Grands rock!

The WJ is only half a real Jeep. While it still has a solid front axle, the rear has the very inferior short upper a-arm. WJs don't become real Jeeps until you get rid of that a-arm if and when you lift them.

The ZJ is definitely a real Jeep - suspension wise. But how "real" can you get with a uni-body? Can you say disposable?

"real" Jeep was just a throw back to the argument Sno started when he said TJ's and JK's weren't "real" Jeeps. There's is nothing more to read into that... lol

But I agree. If I were going Grand I'd get a ZJ. But if newer is what is wanted WJ isn't a terrible option. WK is unless you want a mall crawler.

In the end even a uni-body Jeep would be better than Kyles S-10... trail wise anyway... so yea.

get a landcruiser..

or a cherokee (not grand)

or just solid axle your truck and be done with it, converted trucks work very well, especially your sized truck

thats a good trade kyle

your truck does very well, but has very limited and fruitless opportunities, unlike the jeep. handle it beefcake
