1996 Jimmy AWD. When in park it actually will drift forward or backwards. Driveshaft is turning. When you shift to park it acts like it is on the pin. Is there something in the xfercase that will slip or do I have a larger problem. Thanks. Dan

How far does it move? A few inches or just keep going?

As long as there is an incline it will keep moving.

Sounds like it's not actually going into park, but you knew that, so I would start by checking to make sure that the shift linkage is adjusted properly.

Just be sure to have someone holding the brakes or chock the tires good, I wouldn't want it rolling over you while you fiddle with the linkage.
