So it's in intermittent issue on my 2004 S-10 ZR2 to start out the battery and alternator have both tested good several times. when i go to start the truck today it might be dead (no clicking of the starter solenoid) it would appear a paralytic draw of some sort but I can't find any circuits acting funny. Other days it fires up immediately. but in either case it almost always dies after being driven around for an hour or more. the lights in the dash blink from time to time. i've tried disconnected just about everything the radio, inside lights, daytime running lights etc. and the symptoms still go on the same does anyone have any ideas?

how do you turn the truck on when the battery is dead? do you jump it, do you have to wait awhile

Bad ground. I'd put money on it. Check your ground wire off the battery first and make sure its properly connected and not corroded, then check the ground at the block, then the body to the chassis grounds. Also be sure to check your alternator wires and the wires coming off your starter.

the truck has to be jumped when it goes dead. I've checked the cleaned and reseated the ground wire from the battery at both ends as well as the ground wires at the starter. and all the alternator wires are in good shape. Ill check around for a few other grounds I may have missed.
