Oh, and PS... Push Button Start will NOT get your truck failed at a smog test. It has nothing to do with emissions, all the other stuff you just admitted, again, to dicking with is what made you fail visual.

you have to admit though ed. that if you did'nt have all those smog rules etc. you might be able to complete cheaper builds and maybe more power.  You guy's in cali have to smack your legislators for me please.  I asked about cali having it's own because thats where the mags are based i didn't want anyone fired up.  I don't need a chapter for missouri I only know of 3 parks here.  Although when i'm confident i can  dominate all of them with no breaks and still drive home in it I'll start an ultamte adventure here going south east.

That is true, to a point. But it is still possible here to do stupid engine swaps and build big power completely legally. People just don't take the time to look into what is necessary and instead just spout off "California Sucks" and go hide in the corner.

Oregon is your example that proves SoCal is the only place to be? Ouch!

Phoenix, if not the best, is one of the best places to "live" and have very close off-roading of many different varieties. Top rated for both extreme 4x4'ing and just plain beauty.

Almost nothing in SoCal is "close" if you have to get onto a Freeway to get there. Fighting the traffic and the crowds all day, every day, seven days a week... no thanks!

And the worst thing about California, the insane liberal politics that is destroying the entire state.

The cameras were a direct result of a shady backroom deal made by our former Governor to raise money for her special projects. Oh gee, a Democrat. It was not the Legislators. There are now at least three pieces of legislation that will make them illegal. So they should be coming down sometime next year. They've only been there since September. Besides, our speed limits are 75mph and no truck or trailer restrictions. All the in-city local freeways speed limits with very few exceptions are 65mph. The cameras are set to ticket at 11mph over, so basically you can drive 75 on nearly every freeway in the state and not get a photo-radar ticket. And our state patrol is not lurking around every corner like in Cali.

As far as the heat... putting up with the summer heat that gives way to the best weather in the country for the other 9 months is well worth it.

Don't know if you've noticed but summer hasn't been 3 months long for some time now..... it seems to be in the 80's until Dec now!  And the 909 rocks lol!

That's right '80's for Thanksgiving and 80's for the tailgate party at the Superbowl. Aint it great? We have summer weather for fall, winter, and spring. A little cold at night though.

i wouldnt trade the midwest rain sun and snow.  we get 105 in summer and -5 in winter.  Now that makes for the same trail to seem different everytime.
