I have an 08 silverado. My problem is its a V6 and its a 4x2. I would like to put a RC 7.5" lift with 35" tires on it. Now to be honest with you I know im breaking all the rules because 1. its a V6 and 2. its a 4x2, but my intentions are for it to be primarily be a street driver and rarely take it off road. I JUST WANT THE COOL LOOK! AND NOT TO SPEND LOTS OF MONEY! So my question to all of you is- Can my truck handle this? If so how bad will it bog my truck down? How much of a drop in gas mileage can i expect? And what is the cheapest lift, wheels, and tires i can buy that will last a long time.
Thanks Watts,

gear the pup down, tire size x .12 = ballpark gear ratio...but with say a .70 final drive ratio in the tranny you gonna need a wee bit deeper gears

When you think about it, a lifted 2WD with a V-6 kinda makes a lot of sense. For instance: Tacoma TRD prerunners, or go-fast Ford Rangers. But if you are dead set on a super tall lift kit as you mentioned, the V-6 is going to be a bit sluggish. Sure you could gear it down, but the little V-6 is going to have to rev a whole lot to get the job done.
You can do anything you dare to dream.

If you want to do this as cheap as possible do the following:
Get a 3 inch body lift Crank up your front torsion bars for another couple of inches
That won't get you to 7.5 but you'll be near 5 inches.
