the 6.2 was and is a good medium duty engine...when i had mine i worked the pisss out of it and played just as hard w/it and i didnt have one problem w/it...now it doesnt compare to todays diesels for sure theres no debating that, but for its days it was a good engine and I wont bad mouth the 6.2

they probably never ran a 6.2 and are looking at #s and putting judgment on the #s and not the actual ability of the 6.2....my '82 sierra had carried about 5000#s of brick total weight between 2 trips and over 300 miles up and down a 9500ft mountain pass and then up a steep muddy road it the thick woods to build a house, twice...so i know the 6.2 is a work horse, just does it a little slower...

i like ford and chevy. both make a great truck, it just depends on what i want the truck for. like my Blazer, i want 4wd, solid axle, and fuel injection. only bronco that was full size with a SFA was the 78-79, i love that body style but they were carbed, so chevy was the way to go! and i really like the bosy styling.

for a HD, super duty all the way, for a 1/2 ton, chevy makes a better truck.

its all in perspective.

Well i owned fords and have a 94 F150 now and i love them had to pull out a few chevys and dodges too but been pulled out a few times my self. as a few said it depends on the driver and what they prefer.

Fords all the way for me.

I'm a Ford man myself, I've owned a few chevys and they both let me down. I have freinds who drive chevys and they work well for them, I guess it's all in the driver. I like Ford and Jeeps because they're the only trucks I've found to handle my harsh driving style. My dad always told people I'd tear up a cannon ball with a Kleanex.

yeah the dodge he is refering to is me but i retured the favor but i would have to say chevy but that is just an opinion but i have to agree it depends on the driver IF you can get a ford to do what you want the ford is the way to go but you cant go wrong with a dodge

pure and simple they're all the same....each brand has it's ups and downs...each can be "better" than the other....plain and simple it is what YOU make it...they just give you a platform

Well, I guess I can't blame ya for being Chevy fans, some people just can't handle the power, you don't want to get behind the wheel and have so much power overwhelming you that you run down 7 Chevy's and 4 Dodges in 3 seconds. That'd be a pretty big pile of junkers to clean up.

I'd say you must have good tools to work on a Chevy with all the constant repairing you'd have to do. The tools you need for the rare repair of a Ford just wouldn't hold up to constant work like that. You must have to rebuild your engine ever 7 miles if you're driving with Chevy!
