I was just curious. If AAM makes the solid front axle on the Dodge, and GM uses the AAM 9.25 IFS axle in their heavier modle wagons...Gm and Dodge are users of said AAM axles. I wonder... Who makes the front ifs axles for the front ends o the 1/2 ton trucks. AAM? and if this is so, why not make a swap using all the wonderful fab skills to put a lockable ifs front end on your trucklet? I know, but someone out there has to have the cubic yardage of brain to do it. wouldnt it be cool though? and wile were at it, who makes the Ford IFS? Stirling? Just curious, HAPPY WHEELING!

I believe the 1/2 ton IFS is a variant on the GM 10 bolt. Could be wrong though.
Ford has a few. In the Rangers the front diff is a Dana 35. In the F150's the front diff is an 8.8 which are made by Visteon?
With the way parts are outsourced and private labeled these days it wouldn't surprise me if AAM, DANA, Sterling, Visteon, whoever made which ever IFS axles.
But why? You can lock the current 1/2 ton front diffs. Just look at the Hummer H3's. Granted they changed from an aluminum to a steel housing but that doesn't mean the aluminum housing won't hold up to mild use.
