I have owned 4 Chevy's '70,'77,'78,'95 all were great.
I now have a '98 Dodge 1500 which is great except for the 3:55 gears and gutless no torque 318 (never should have been put in a truck motor).
The only ford I would consider buying would be a 1-ton Diesel

come on dude i'm not a big ford fan but the 78 and 79 bronco and the f250's are some on the best 4 wheelers you can buy for the buck all before the dana 44 ifs was integrated .......... the big problem with wheeling a chevy is the transfer case hangs down as an after thought unless you lift 10 - 12 inches it is what gets you stuck i have an 87 suburban with a 94 corvette lt1and it runs like no other but it isn't worth wheeling much

I have had 2 Chevys, 2 Dodge, 1 Ford, and 1 Jeep. I have liked them all as far as the best well it would have to be my current a 2000 F250 Supercab longbed and well OFCOURSE 4X4 and heck yea a 7.3L Powerstroke (the only reason I have a Ford is the Powerstroke) I will tell you this the truck is stock well except for the chip (but if you got a stroke and ant got the chip then your suckin my smoke) any who I have a small farm and was puttin in some irrigation in one of my fields well of course the day I rent the trencher it has to have rained the whole week before so my field was nuttin but mud not stick it to the doors mud but something I really did not think this truck could handle. Scenario A F250 that weighs in around 7300 lbs a tripple axle backhoe trailer weighin in at about 5000 lbs and well a monster ditch witch trencher the one you ride on and has the 4 way blade I guess that beast weighs about at least 5 or 6k but lets say 5 then you have 7300+5000+5000=17300lbs and I pulled them through this field all day and only used 4X4 one time when I got too close to the ditch. That impressed me. As far as my Dodge trucks I had a 1995 Dodge Ram 2500 ex cab long bed V10 but it was 2X4 I actually got stuck on the side of the road (really the side of the road) but it would SMOKE Z28s and Muststinks All day. If it had been 4X4 I would still have it. My second Dodge was a 2000 Dodge Dakota quad cab 4X4 I special ordered this truck so it was built right I had the 3.92 gears the 4.7L V8 31/10.50/15 and this truck went any where I wanted to. And would pull the heck out of a trailer I once pulled a 38' double slide travel trailer with this truck this trailer weighed 9800 lbs + the weight of the truck. The two Chevys I had well one was an S10 an 1989 S10 ex cab 4X4 4.3L auto was not bad the second well it was not a Chevy it was a GMC (which is the same truck I don't care what ANY One Says) Sierra ex cab short bed Z71 and Yea it had the 5.7L 350 what else is there? That was a good truck I have never had a BAD truck I do look back and think about what I liked about all of them and wish I could take all the good things of each and put together one sweet truck. But I don't Hate any of them!

maybe at the end of the day with all the trucks you had you took care of them not beat them up like the manufacture looks down on.
all truck makers have good trucks chevy and ford are the better examples of this. but there are other great trucks out there just depends on what you need and what your looking for
or what dealership cuts the biggest deal
