Im not much of a dodge man unless you count jeeps. Of course, a good friend of mine has a 2000 dakota QC w/360 auto. He just put in his 3rd tranny. He drives this thing like a madman but even still thats 2yr per tranny. The first 2 were coverd by warranty but he paid for this one and says that this one is it if it goes he's finding a stick! So good luck with your venture, and hope someone can give you the help your looking for.

I'll bet you friend has no aux tranny cooler and a taller effective gear ratio via axle ratio or axle ratio and tire combo. One or both of these is killing it.

Well after the first one he installed a cooler. It's running 4:10 with stock tires BTW it's 2wd. It"s never seen anything but pavement and it's left it's marks all over alot of it. The only thing he uses more of than tires is GAS. The guy can't drive like normal folk it's either fast or parked or broke down.LOL

He hooked it from the radiator to the return line. That way fluid passes through the radiator into the aux cooler then back to the tranny.
