Try the junkyard, they should have plenty of parts for your rig.

Well that is because they made less of them and it was replaced by S10 and also the Rangers died easier too. In the 70's the ranger had a 2.3 Liter engine that was troublesome at best and did not last long either. They were very cheaply built.

I never heard of a 70's full size Ranger (2.3 liter). That to me sounds like maybe an engine for the Ford Courier? (Jap. Truck)

I'm not much on knowledge about the Ford Rangers (fullsize) in the 70's, but as far as I know they only came with a inline 6-cyl./ V-8.

I amd not sure of when they switched for Courier ro Ranger but the compact Ford Ranger started life with a 4 cyl and never came with a optional V6 on some model, not a V8. I thing you are confussing it with a "Ranger" package they offered on a full sized Ford P/U long ago. That one was not a compact truck.

The Ranger (little truck) debuted in 83' and it had either a 4cyl. or 2.8 V-6. I know they never came with a V-8.

I'm not getting confused with the 70's Ranger (full size) truck.

Your the one that said the 70's Rangers had the 2.3 liter. I believe your the one getting confused.

I did say that I was not sure of when changeover was and the early little rangers mostly had 2.3's and it was a troublesome engine at best.

That's because there ain't much left, or nothing recognizable left when an Isuzu wrecks! You don't see a whole lot of amigos, yugos, or old hoda civics for the same reasons.

I would not say that at all. Isuszu makes a good vehicle with sturdy drive lines, Sturdier that any put in any ranger in years past.

I'm just being the advocate's devil here. There's one in every crowd, so I figured that was my cue to jump in the mud.

I know nothing from Isuzu's or Rangers.

thanks a lot for the site!!!

the only bad point on my isuzu is it is rusted to the bone when i bough it the frame was completely cut by the rust!!!but thats the only thing the big 2.6 four banger and the gear ratio enough torque. ive made some test after i renforced the frame and i think it is a pretty good trail machine i have a lot of fun with my isuzu but the s-10 and ranger that follow me have less:P i dont have a great knowledge in four wheeling but i think i have more aggresive angle and with the cranked torsion and lift block rear i will easily be able to put 31tire the only problem is the ratio i want to find isuzu v6 diff with the 4.55 ratio (mine is 3.something)

I also just got a 1992 isuzu pickup and I wanted to make it look better. I was hoping to get it lifted and have it shaved but i don't know anything about trucks. I was hoping maybe you could give me some info on how to learn more about fixing the truck up (books, websites, ect). I don't want to go to some place and have them charge me more then what it should be and i don't want to sound like i don't know anything. please help thanks!
