I want to get into off roading, but don't know what truck to get. I have some off road experience, but nothing to brag about. I have been looking at Chevy k5's, k10's, Dodge rams, ford f series, but don't know which one is better for off roading. I am looking to build something that can handle anything I run into whether it be mud, sand, rock, etc. Which vehicle has the most to offer? Thanks in advance for your help! If there is a vehicle that I did not list tat you recommend let me know.

lol to tell u the truth all the older solid axle trucks are very capable wheelers and are very similar....many even share axles and transfer cases.....obviously chevys have a big aftermarked support for everything from motors to suspension to axles .... the ford and dogde trucks are also good candidates for offroading if ur thinking older solid axle trucks....i would stay away from newer ifs trucks .....but why arnt u looking at toyota mini trucks....those damn things are way more reliable and cheaper to build than the full size domestics.....
solid axle chevys cant be beat

personally, im a chevy man...theres nothin better that the raw power of a chevy V-8. the only problem is that since the late 80s' chevy has replaced the solid front axle with independent front suspension, i have a 1995 chevy k1500 Z71 and its a beast, i have a 350 CI (5.7) small block v-8 ,9 inches of lift witth 37 inch dick cepeks, and i have never had a problem with the ifs, some people will tell you to get a jeep, or a ford, but if you want a light duty truck with a *** load of power look into a pre-85' chevy k10 (solid front axle) with at least a 350 and youll prolly want to swap it for a bigg block
*** a japscrap buy a chevy

K5 Blazer all the way, not only is it a beastly bastard, but it's also really easy to work on and most parts are relativley cheap when you compare to the other makes.

Bronco from 75 -77 small as a jeep but 44 front high pinion and 9" rear and a v8 can't find a jeep with that.  or if you want bigger 78 and 9 broncs are great and have big block bell housings for 460 cid swaps.
.........................I respect all brands and breeds of rigs just prefer ford.

Other makes like Isuzu, Toyota, Mitsubishi, and on and on... have pretty good trucks that will go where you need if needed... your looking at only ford chevy gmc kinds lol don't be afraid to explore your variety.

I have a stock 89 Isuzu Trooper XS 4x4 2.4l 4cyclinder/ not much power but with the manual trans it has a low gear option so you have 1-5 gears to pick from in low... i find it funny to cruise at 25mph in 5th gear lol... plus the rear axle is stock and has about 3-4 inch movability on either side... only thing that sucks about that is I need a aftermarket jack to change my stock tires. BUT there are few of these troopers that come with v6's and have a better feel when you jump on the gas!
