Client come in from getting speeding ticket. bought suberban w/ lift and looks like 33 A/T TIRES. K. heres the question. anyone know the formula if any to determin mph for a gien tire size? need a reminder. figuring to see the % miles per hour he had with speedo error difference that he didnt know about and tell the PO-PO chappies what for. thx

um it sounds like your trying to get out of a ticket because of the larger tires causing the speedo to be inaccurate.

i dont recommend doing that because you will probably get another ticket for not modifing the speedo when performing a lift or tire mods

Just tell your client to man up an accept that he did wrong, pay the ticket, take traffic school, and be done with it.

But, to answer your question we need to know the stock tire size that came on that vehicle. Take the original tire size and divide it by the current size. Lets say for example it came with 31's stock. So now having 33's you would divide 31/33=.939, or roughly a 6% difference in size so his speedometer will read 6% slower than he is actually going. So at 65mph (on the speedo) he is actually doing 68.9mph.

Ya I agree on the dont git lit up n drive thingy, its a wee bit more complicated w/ his past though. Thanks for the advise! but i think that 68 in a 45 zone is still trouble...
Gald it wasnt my ticket
