dana 60 ring and pinion... rear gears into front axle...

a friend of mine has a set of gears in a rear dana 60 and we want to put them in my passenger drop dodge dana 60 front... are they the same gears for either application??? does anybody know any particulars on this type of swap???

Yep, as long as they are within the limits of the carrier you will be attaching them to. Like 4.10s and numerically higher are 1 carrier and 3.73s and lower are another. So you couldn't swap the 4.10s onto a 3.73 carrier and vice versa. If you are swapping the whole carrier assembly, you need to make sure it is for the right spline of axle that is in your front end.
