This ROCKTOBER   you guys wanna set up a friends only race????

setup a honor system time clock and stage the mojave road???

start to water crossing stage 1.

pit and start at the train bridge to soda dry lake for stage 2.

stage 3  cross the dry lake and camp/pit at the camp site.

group ride to the start of the joshua tree trail.

stage and make the end of the joshua tree trail the finish line.  and either head back or go to laughlin as a group.

a friendly wager would be fun for the combined time winner. or some sort of prize.

IM IN hahaha i dont care if im the slowest.

How many days do you think would this trip take? After seeing all the pics from the last trip I would love to run this trail!

That does sound like a fun idea. I'd probably be down for it. October would be good, had a trip to Glamis tentatively planned, but that can be put off til Thanksgiving. I don't think we need a camp at out typical spot tho since it will only take 5 hours to complete the entire trail. Other than that I'm down. It sucks being powered by a wheezy 4 cylinder, but I'll give it a go. Would we follow a set route per GPS or is my knowledge of the trail finally going to pay off?

You're all doomed... I have some thoughts about potential issues but they will have to wait till I get back to a real computer.

I wouldnt recomend the burb and you running this trail as a "race"  for your first time.  its a tough ride and if your suspension cant keep up with your a lead foot your in for some trouble really fast.   its also pretty easy to feel lossed out there.  ask Damien hahahaha    theres not really a marked trail but more of like a direction we follow.  there are some stacked rocks to follow but they seam to disapper when your at speed

I would run it when we do it as a group run or grab a open seat like craig.

LOL. Race! Are you kidding. Anything over 20 my head hits the roll bar. Whats the hurry anyhow? With all the stops the last time from hitting those rocks that jump out there you didn't beat me and Frank by too much.
I have the GPS route if you want it.

How about we start the Race group one hour ahead.  The slow group will chase to make sure no one gets left behind.

One hour ahead? How about let's all start at the same time, we'll run all the way to Laughlin and camp with everyone else at our usual spot. It took 5 hours for us to run the entire trail once. I could easily cut it down to 4 with no stops or dust.
