a full floater, is where the axle shaft can pe pulled off o the truck with the tire still on. it is a flange that bolts on to the rear axle, and all you need to remove the axle shaft is remove 8 bolts on the flange, and give it a tug. A full floater would come stock in a heavy duty 3/4 ton truck. it is a much better axle, because it allows you to change axle shfts on the trail a lot easier.(not any fun anyways)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah MY TRUCK HAS A DANA 60 FULL FLOATER IN THE REAR. ONE TIME WE WERE OUT PLOWING MUD, AND WE BURIED IT , AND ABOUT A MONTH LATER, THE CROSS PIN IN THE DIFF, BROKE, AND LOCKED UP THE TIRES GOING DOWN THE MIDDLE OF TOWN. I WAS ABLE TO LIMP TO THE SCHOOL PARKING LOT, WHERE WE LOADED IT, AND HAULED IT HOME AND FIXED IT FOR 17 DOLLARS. I DROVE IT THE NEXT DAY PRETTY COOL HUH////
