I will be purchasing a 2003 Dodge 1500 4x4 soon.  I plan on putting 38 inch Super Swamper SSR's on it, but I'm having a hard time finding out exactly what I'm gonna need to do to fit the tires and have the truck run at peak performance.  I know what kind of lift and suspension I'm gonna have to get on the truck, I'm just looking for someone who can give me some advice (or suggestions) on other things that I may need to have done to my truck as far as engine, transmission, brakes, etc...  If anyone could help me with this or at least tell me about a website that could answer these questions for me I would really appreciate it.

brakes would be good...it takes more to stop big tires... look into ball joints to see if you can get a beefier set...tires will tear up stock ball joints...a performance chip would be good..if they make them for your truck(which they probably do), a cam that will give you low end torque, an exhaust like a flowmaster system. ill get back to you with more ideas...also all depends on how much money you've got!!

Thank you very much for your help...  I'm not too worried about how much it's gonna cost b/c I plan on having the truck for a while and adding things as I go...  I recently joined the army, so I'll have about 4 or 5 months to save up while I'm in training...  Thanks again for your help and if you can think of anything else I may need or if you have any other suggestion please feel free to e-mail me at jmu2424@yahoo.com

I think that you should look into the Rumble Bee package that's coming out on the Ram's.  It's a supercharged 5.7 Hemi that's running about the same hp and torque numbers that the SRT-10 V-10 is running (500 hp and 500+ lb/ft of torque).  The only thing is, I've only seen it on a 2wd truck.  You might be able to get it on the 4x4.  Good Luck
