Not to harp on your guys' ability to recognize tire sizes but I will give you a formula that you can take with you and actually compute the tire size. You take the first number so for a 265/75R16 that would be 265 you divide that number by 25.4 the conversion factor for milimeters to inches. you come up with 10.43 you you multiply the that by the second number in percentage form .75 10.43 x .75 = 7.82 that is how tall your sidewall is from the top of the rim to the top of the tire. so you would take that number and multiply it by 2(you have an upper and lower sidewall) 7.82 x 2 = 15.64 then you would add the rim size so in this case 16 16 + 15.64 = 31.64 Every tire manufacturer is gonna be a little different so a few mils taller or shorter and wider or narrower plus mud tire are gonna have deeper treads so usually a little taller. I work in the tire business so I just wanted to pass this along to ya'll. Common sizes 265= 10.5 265/75R16 = 31.6x10.5R16 or roughly 31x10.50R16 285= 11.2 285/75R16 = 32.8x11.2R16 or roughly 33x11.50R16 305= 12 305/75R16 = 34.0x12.0R16 but the more common size for that is 305/70R16 which is 32.82x12R16 or roughly a 33x12R16 315= 12.5 315/75R16 = 34.62x12.5R16 or roughly a 35x12.50R16
