alright im in iraq right now but i know when i get back i want to do a SAS for my chevy colorado but i know its going to be some work. from what ive gathered from friends and forums is that i will be able to take some Dana 44's and make those work for my axle's and im also going to weld the rear leafs to the top of the axle instead of the stock way which is under. im trying to get enough lift to fit about 37's under it. i also know i need to get around 5's for my gearing but not sure on the exact ratio. im also just keeping it simple and going leafs in front and rear, im not doing coilovers or anything crazy expensive. i was wondewring if anyone has any ideas, comments, concerns and/ or help. its greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you're on the right track. SASing any truck can be made pretty simple, and leaf springs is probably the easiest way to go.
Though it sounds like you need to do a lot more research before you start tearing the truck apart. I say this because of this comment...
"and im also going to weld the rear leafs to the top of the axle instead of the stock way"
Axles don't weld to the leaf springs, that would be very bad.
Good luck with the swap!
