i am going to rebuild the five speed standard out of a gmc half ton i need to know the name of the transmission. does anyone know what the stock tranny is in a 1995 GMC 4x4. i was told new venture 3400 but that is wrong

It is supposed to be a NV3500. If it is not inthere then someone traded it out because they only came with NV3500's in that model. You can find the gear ratio spec's at link below http://forum.snoman.com/viewtopic.php?t=153

Awsome thanks for the info. now do you know where i can get a parts picture or a tech manual online for a nv 3500.

You tell me want you want and I will place them in the member diagram area (I am building it up by request). I have truck/4x4 data at my disposal here from 1960 to present with a library of manuals and data that I have amassed. i would like a parts break down of the shafts and shift forks. also the dissasembly and assembly procedure's for the trans.
it is a chev NV 3500. thanks alot.
