I have a '90 cherokee limited and a '90 cherokee laredo. I would like to swap the manual that is in the laredo for the auto that is in the limited and possibly vise versa. Can anyone tell me how feasable this is, and perhaps what is involved? Maybe rate how difficult it is on a scale of 1-10 (easy to hard).

If you have a donor vehical it is pretty straight forward and you can do it in a day or so if you are mechanically inclinded. It will take longer without a donor vehical when you have to hunt parts up at a bone yard.

PRETTY HARD. YOU WOULD HAVE TO SWAP OUT THE AXLE BECAUSE OF GEAR RATIO DIFFERENCE , CUT HOLES IN FLOOR (OR COVER THEM), RADIATORS, PILOT BEARING IN THE END OF CRANK. THE STANDARD TRANNY WILL LINE UP TO A PILOT BEARING IN THE CRANK WHERE AS THE AUTO TRANNY DOESN'T. I ENJOY A CHALLENGE BUT THIS I WOULD HAVE TO DEFER. GOOD LUCK

You would not have to swap axle ratios, you can use it as is unless you are running oversized rubber and then you need to regear regardless of swap. Again with a donor vehical it would not be that bad, I would say a 6 or 7 on a scalle of 10 with 10 being hardest.
