Hi guys thank god I found this place .. I got a couple questions so please bare with me......
I have a Chevy k1500 5.0 TBI and i want more juice so long and behold my buddy happen to have a good working 5.7 kicking around and i want to drop it in (went i blow up the 5.0)
Q: will he tranny bolt patter line up ?
Q: being a 1990 odb1 will I have to swap the ecu ?

OK ....so tranny will work by the sounds of it as its the same block .....Until i find a big mud hole.....
But the computer or so called computer in this thing whats its roll in the fuel air management if at all ?

You will need the ECU for the 5.7 because the fuel requirement between the two engines are different. How far appart are the years of the vehicals?

They are the same year.1990
Both of them are TBI .....
I did not think the ECU had any part in the fuel... when you push the peddel it opens the fuel gate(injectors) and air gate together .... Now thinking about it the injectors get told the release amount form the ecu as they are electric.
Ill have to see about the ecu and getting one from wreckers yard as i never got it ..
I just wounder about the wire setup and if its plug and -play or or ill have to redo the harness .....Hummm
