I have a '91 Dodge W150 4x4 pickup truck currently powered by a 318 V-8.  The motor is getting tired and I have a 1977  360  out of a custom 300  2wd truck.  What is involved in this swap?   I would to keep my ignition, fuel pump, intake and exhaust manifolds from the 318 if possible.  My transmission is an overdrive automatic with push button shut off.  Please e-mail me any info available.    Thanks,   Dan

i would keep the 318 and just rebuild it because its stronger, but swap the heads off the 318 because the 360 heads flow a lot better.

?a 318 is stronger than a 360? whatever...rebuild yer 318 but replace the heads with the newer magnum heads and a Mopar Perf. Parts RV/towing cam. the 360 won't gain you that much power over a 318. the older motor would swap in easy and yes you can keep the accessories you have but for all the work of pulling an engine, would you be putting in a tired '77 engine?

Also, putting 360 heads on a 318 is kinda silly in that it LOWERS the compression ratio which reduces efficiency and MPG.
