My buddy has a 71 F-100 2wd with a 302 and an FMX tranny from I believe a later Thunderbird. He wants to restore/upgrade the truck and the first thing on the list is the transmission. He wants an overdrive transmission such as the AOD, AOD-E, 4R70-W, or 4R100. My question is what transmission would be the best to use, what model donor vehicle would the tranny come from, and if it is electronically controlled, what would be the best route for controlling it. Thanks
