My friend has 31x10.50x15 tires on his stock Ranger with the factory wheels with no rubbing at all.
The 30x9.50x15 tires are only slightly bigger than a P235x75R15 tire.
Unless you want some added ground clearance, I'd go with a 31" instead of the close to stock 30". This is just what I would do if your axle gears aren't too high.
By the way, what are the axle gears in your truck?

i can agree cause i have 30" allterrains on my stock 97 ranger and they fit with plenty of extra room. when i bought my truck it came with 30" mudterrains and i went everywhere with those tires. i have a set of 31" mudterrains that im puttin on my truck when i wear the allterrains down, everyone says they'll be a little tight but should clear so im not worrying.

I've got some brand new 31x10.50x15 all-terrains that I bought a month ago for my 98' Ranger. The reason why there still sitting in my house is because I'm trying so save up some money to buy some 15x8 black steel wheels for a different look.
I hope to get the wheels soon and have them on the truck.
I know that you have a different front suspension than I do. TTB with coil springs vs. my IFS with torsion bars.
I'll let you know how well they fit my truck.
Nice talking to you, Rangergirl.
I wish there were more women, other than yourself, that are on this forum and into wheeling.

I have a 99 ranger with a 3 inchbody lift and have 31" thornbirds. They are 13.50 wide and I have never had the least bit of rub, so I am sure you'll have no problem. I'm planning on going to 32's for my next tire. Don't ever get thornbirds. They vibrate the *** out of your truck.

Is your truck 4x4? 2wd? Edge? XLT?
On a 98+ 4x4 (any version, Edge, XLT, FX4, FX4 L2) or 2wd Edge you can fit a 33/10.5/15 or a 265/75/16 with NO modifications at all, that is on a bone stock truck.

I have an '03 Ranger with 33x10.50x15 MT's. I also went down to 15" steel wheels instead of the stock alluminum 16" to get more tire. I put a 2" lift that entailed new front keys and an add-a-leaf in the rear and have curled up my rear fenders a bit on extreem articlulation. Not enough to worry about though, they only bend so far! I've been happy with it so far and it was under $250. I would think 31's would clear with NO problem at all. Hope this helped. Oh, and ditching the sway bar makes a world of difference off road and the truck is still very stable on the highway.

I'm running 265/75/16 M/T's on my Ranger with no lift and I don't have any problems.

I have a 95 ranger and i put 31X10.5X15 hercules terra tracs on it and they fit perfect. Plenty of room. 33's would easily fit. dont bother with 30 inch tires go for at least 31's

I have an '86 Bronco II that tucked 30's no sweat. Lifted it 2.5" put 31's on it and I swear 33's would fit with ease. I agree about the sway bars. I don't drive my rig on the blacktop but WOW what a difference on the trail. I have a '96 trans, cold air intake, the 2.5" lift my 31's and a dbl. u-joint, CV I guess they call it, driveline and I'm still under $500 in all.
