I have installed 6" lift on 83 Chevy 1/2 ton . The lower leaves keep walking side ways out of alignment . What causes this and how do I fix it ? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Check your center pin. I've seen rigs spread their leaves because they lost the center pin. Usually the rear end will track weird too. The other thing could be that the spring clamps on the leaves are broken. There are two types. Military which is just a big U bolted to a bottom leaf then it has a bolt through the top of the U which holds the springs in place. The second type is more like a piece of metal that wraps around the springs holding them in place. Sometimes if too many of the arms break the leaves may tend to spread much more. If you're missing a center pin or it's loose, that is a serious thing. The spring clamps (in my opinion) aren't as big of a deal. These are just some suggestions, but they're worth checking out.

on some trucks i have saw a flat piece of metal bent in a u shape the inside 2.5 inches and tall enough to clear the top of the springs with room to spare. It also is bolted to the bottom of the bottom leaf this will keep the leaves from walking side ways. I do not knew what truck i had saw this on. I may look at a few trucks and see if i see it around. It might have been my wife's c1500.
