TDSSD:
Took it to Ford and they are keeping it for a while as I blew a head gasket.

Ouch! That sucks. At least warranty will cover it and it wasn't a catastrophic failure, that would have been bad.

To get the engine that clean I bag'd off the alternator and exposed wires, then sprayed some simple green (sold at auto part stores) on it and hit it with some pressured water. The big help was blasting it with a strong air compressor. Once finished I just used some armorall to dress it up. This was the 1st time I have ever hit an engine with water and was kind of scared to do it, but it worked out great. I also got tranny fluid/filter changed! Whens the next wheelin trip!!!
Thanks for getting me hooked on simple green Kev!

Kyle, I am going out to the MDR night race on August 15th if you want to check out some desert racing and do some wheeling. Jason will probably end up out there as well. It is in Lucerne at the rockpile off Bessimer Mine Rd. There is plenty of light to medium offroad trails around as well as the infamous Hammers where all the hardcore guys are. The tech inspection is early Saturday and is a great chance to check out all the fabwork that goes into a race truck. There should be close to 100 entrants, but I can't promise any Sonomas. Heck there probably won't be any S-10s there either. LOL There is also a real good chance we'd be pitting for a friends Trophy Truck team, so that would be fun.

If that doesn't tickle your fancy, we will be going back to Pismo in September. Jason has the date, I haven't written it down yet.
