have a 2000 z71 that has a definate growl noise thru steering wheel and herd outside truck. only does it at low speed. replaced pump with no difference. do i need a new steering gear.

is this truck bone stock or lifted with big tires? try running a cooler on the return line cus the fluid might be getting hot.
