It's just swapping leaf springs... but big heavy leaf springs.
If you have any doubts, or don't have the tools, and can afford it, then pay someone.

12" is pretty tall but it should still be just a spring kit.
What lift kit is it specifically that you are trying to install?

Thanks you guys.It is a Full Throttle kit.It comes with 4 springs, drop down bracket, pitman arm, crossover steering, break lines & procomp shocks.I'm down to getting dirty.Im a welder by trade and restore old cars. Its just that this is my first 4x and I am not to familiar with the suspension.I have most of the tools that will be needed except the lift.Is there a way to get the excursion higher than using jack stands? Also I was thinking of using a tom woods drive lines.Any suggestions?

if your using stands youll need to crib them up with something secure. use 6x6 0r 8x8 and 3/4 inch plywood. screw it all together with some substantial screws. DO NOT use concrete block, they can break. just make sure everything is tied together and use 6 or 8 stands. you cant have too much support

Tom Woods is a good company to go with for drive shafts, they do top notch work.
For that big of a lift on that big of a truck I'd just pay someone. Without a lift its going to just suck ass.
