They say it's the most capable jeep ever to hit the trails, but I haven't seen any on a trail where I wheel at yet. Most of the one's I see are sitting in the mall parking lot. The one's I've seen on the road almost hit me because the driver was to busy putting on lipstick and talking on the cell phone.

The most cable Jeep was likely one built in 70's and they have been going down hill ever since about 95 when they tried to make it more car like and the latest stretch version is a Jeep only in name. The was a time when a Jeep was simple small, lighter, rugged and shorter but that day is long gone.

I think Chrysler-Jeep has ruined the Wrangler by making it into a Hummer looking city SUV for suburbanites who think that accidentally backing onto the lawn constitutes 4-wheeling. The darn thing is just too big! It's great for soccer moms who want to feel "outdoorsy" by driving a Wrangler, but it's just not practical for real off-roading. I live in Cody, Wyoming and drive a '00 Wrangler TJ. I can get my Wrangler into some of the most remote and rugged country around and squeeze through many quad ATV trails. I can get through and between rocks and trees into places that those big-city SUV Wranglers couldn't even begin get in. I work at a lube shop and recently pulled an '08 Wrangler in behind a Chevy Suburban... the Wrangler was WIDER THAN THE SUBURBAN!!! I find it hard to believe that anyone could even fit it between mountains much less on a trail. I suppose that the newer Wranglers are still quite 4-wheel capable... as long as you have wide open spaces (or parking lots) to drive them in. Good luck with that.
