Well first time I saw the Unlimited I hated it...I had a CJ and a YJ before and of course first thing I thought was WTF THATS A BARBIE CAR THATS NOT A JEEP! Well let me tell you something: I am the proud owner of a Sahara Unlimited (bought it on november last year) I tested it on mud, hills and whatever did with my old Jeeps and I can tell you this is a real Jeep.  I am sorry about whoever disagree and think that old Jeeps were better but the key word here is EVOLUTION and this new Jeep is just that.  I LOVE MY JEEP

Ok So we took a buddys out twice 07 Rubicon 4 door It did realy well better then the H3 .A little wide for me but still a Jeep. He installed the 1 3/4" coil
spring spacers and that helped. Comes with 32" tire not bad!

I had an 86 CJ7 and now I have a JK Rubi 2 door, this thing is way better off road stock for stock. It rides better on the road, and is alot more comfortable. I know that when they changed in 87 I thought it was a bad idea to, but I would never trade this one for anything! Yes they are different looking but throw some 35's on it,lift, get rid of those stupid bumpers and they look awsome.(In my opinion)

I've wanted a jeep for a very long time but couldn't justify it because I have 3 kids.  Now I can get an unlimited, bet there are literally millions of guys or gals just like me who want a wrangler but need 4 doors.  I think I would seriously consider a diesel if they offered one.  It would be cool if they offered a 5 speed auto too. But I'm not going to bash them because they don't

It is rather humerous to watch these people bash the 4 door as if they stopped making the 2 door.  Quit whinning, they are different vehicles for different markets.  Are you going to bash the truck version or the J8 military version too because they aren't what you have or you can't afford them? I think jeep deserves some real credit here for their entire line of wrangler products.

I recently went to my jeep dealer with the possible intent to buy a 08 wrangler. The week i went they had a offroad course set up to allow people to test the new 08's. I drove the 08 rubicon. The offroad capabilities are pritty impressive for stock.... BUT the onroad feel ...is just not a jeep. It rides more like a lifted caddy. I realy didnt feel like i was driving a JEEP. Plus its 11in longer and 6-7in wider and this was the 2door i could only imagion the 4door. Some tight trails would be in accessible, or atleast not without getting some scratches or dents. Then theirs that V6 .. why o why  i have to ask. This motor belongs in a explorer not a wrangler. Low-end TQ pritty much su*ks their just isn't any.  Then the price , people think wranglers are cheap their not anymore. As i was walking through the lot i saw a 2000, half doors the I6, dana 44 rear, softtop, stick, 50k miles and almost 20K less it was a no brainer. At that price i could do everything i want to it and still have plunty of cash left. plus when i roll it over i wont be so pissed.  If your buying a jeep cause its cool, you want a nice soft ride, u need more room, and have some cash go for the 08. If your buying a Jeep cause you going to be doing some moderate to serious offroading, want it to actualy feel and drive like a jeep get a CJ YJ or TJ.

I disagree,  Ive seen the new 07 JK Rubi in action and it kicks ass,  the V6 number are pretty close to the 4.0 which i have.  and its a proven motor that we should be able to mod and get better numbers out of unlike the 4.0

dont knock it till you have seen it on a real trail and not some concrete course.  socalduner on this site has taken his on some tuff stuff and he has easily kept up with me on 33s and RE3.5 lift.

I'm not knocking its capabilities...  i know its a very capable jeep..... almost more then people think....  i go wheeling in the pine barrens in S. jersey the trails can get very tight and certain trails the JK just wouldn't be able to fit(my TJ barley fits with 1" to spare on eaither side). my argument is just i feel jeep always did what they wanted when designing their lineup... they didnt care about current trends.  I feel they fell into the american mentality that bigger is always better.  The new Jk size is great if you always have more then 2 people in your jeep and u need the extra space, the wider stance is also much more stable offroad. But u caint gain in one area without loosing in another. is your fiends manual or auto. Cause in my manual tj i can climb the rocks without even gasing the motor(if the grade isnt to extreme)and with the V6 thats just not possable. Plus a I6 is allways going to have a stronger bottom end then a V cause their are more mains(7 vs 4 in the V6). The V6 will run smoother be easier to start better mpg and have more power potential. But my rull still applies. And i have seen it on the trails their where 4 last weekend where i wheel... one had to pull me outta the mud.

Mine is a auto,it crawls pretty good with the 4:1 transfer and lockers tho. I agree they ride different on the road than the old jeeps, I think they had to make them wider etc. for safety reasons( to meet the federal safety standards) The v6 makes a little more hp and torque than the I6 its just at a higher rpm, which in my opinion works well when in low, low. I think anything will have its good points and bad points, but I like all Jeeps.

I prefer a engine that has most of its grunt at lower RPM's (below 3000 RPM) off road and for this the old 258 or 4.0 is better than a 3.7 V6 regardless of HP ratings.

I've seen the Unlimited upclose, looks roomy....didn't drive it,'cause it's not mine. My thought is, if you have the need for the extra room, then why not? I prefer my '95 Wrangler, the only frills I have is an after-market a/c that I rarely use. To each his own, I'll never knock someone for buying one.

i actualy like the jk 2 door and i think they are a good image of a jeep. they are suposed to be just as good as the tj. but i think the jk 4 door is so ugly and doesnt earn the right to be called a wrangler.

one thing that made me mad was my dad actualy considered buying one. but after he came home he changed his mind because the dealor ship said they didnt have any in 4wheel drive. i couldnt hear my own ears. they said they could order him one but they didnt have any there, and this is a good sized dealorship. i dont think that they even made 2 wheel drive wranglers until 2007.

To me the JK 4 door is a good way of showing us how jeep is slowly loosing its roots and becomeing an ordinary SUV company like every other big car maufacturer.

i accually like both of the new wranglers dont get me wrong i like all wranglers. but in more partial to big full size chevys.i think thats why i like the new wranglers.i used to work at the lithia here in butte and have driven both the 06,07,and 08 wranglers 2 and four door and they are roomy and comfortable and i like the stance with the wide fenders.and whan they are lifted and all the aftremarket stuff is installed they look sick. but ya cant go wrong with a good old chevy.
