Why big trucks and mud do not mix

the problem there is the driver and the tires, nothing to do with the size or wieght of the pick up.... if ya drove the jeep through the same spot it'll also be stuck, those guys prolly have more stuck jeep vids than stuck trucks...

this prticular spot the fs's go right through and the light wieght/shortys tend to get stuck

Thats what i dont like about ifs front 4x4's. one tire will dig down deep and high center the front, but thats just me. And i agree, it was poor driver judgement to go where the cattails grow with a a/t tired truck. ime not sayin a solid axle truck might have fared better, as i think the spinning tire would have just gone deeper as the pivot point?, would be the other side of the axle...right? vs the center of the truck as being the pivot point. but that brings to mind having a traction adder to get both tires spinning/pulling the wagon.
so, in the final analysis..he should have got a Dodge Power Wagon, and not got stuck...coz the locker, and solid axle and the HEMI (HE Movin It) would have given the driver a better chance at not bein eaten by the mud! or..maybe not  

oh come on snoman thats not a big truck its a damn stock 1500 with some wanna be off road tires, had he a locker in the back and up front he might have gone farther with those tires but he really need bigger tires to do that stuff and of cousre two jeeps cant pull it out, there jeeps!!   yeah the weight of a heavy full size stuck in the mud is harder to pull out than an jeep would be, but strap my blazer up to that truck see if i cant pull it out   FULLSIZE FOR LIFE lol

anything would be hard to extract with a couple samurias and a chopped up CJ.

You are missing the point here. When you sink a 5 or 6,000 lb truck it is hard to extract. Gravity is a pill and that and mud's suction is a lot to overcome. With a smaller lighter vehicle, A) you are less likely to get stuck because you will not sink in as much and B) when you do get stuck is it a lot easier to extract.

BUT a big heavy properly built truck with a good driver has not much of a chance to get stuck. Also pulling out a big truck with a little truck just does not work...

Not true, gravity is a force to be reckoned with and weight is no asset in deep mud with no bottom. A lighter vehicle will always do better and like I mentioned earlier, it will be easier to extract too when you push envelop too far.  

Yeah my buddy has a 2003 F-350 4x4 with the 7.3, 8" suspension lift, hub lockers, and 38" Toyo open country M/T's.  He is a very good driver and can get his truck through a lot of stuff that most people raise there eyebrows at and go "the hell I'm going through there!"  However when he gets in the mud it sinks like a rock and when he actually does get stuck we basically call up someone with a farm tractor to get him out.  
It takes big nuts to follow us.

They did get it out and they did not get stuck doing it either. The lighter you are in deep mud the better off you are.  

when i got my companys Fj stuck at azusa last time it took two jeeps and a K5, its almost a good thing cause you get out of your truck and start bsing with people and meet new friends.......i wish i got stuck more often lol

So everyone is supposed to drive a big truck to pull others out and ti be harder to get out themselves when stuck? Some think being stuck is cool while I think not getting stuck at all is cooler.  

well i dont fit in lil trucks the place i got stock at some dude in 44s just went through....by the way if you have ever been to azusa theres a very advanced area where people actually get there non street legal monsters stuck and then try to find a way out.  and thats usually where the majority of everyone is there just kicking back and watching. so ya its cool cause you know some one will always help you

To me there is nothing cool about burying a 4x4 and possibly damaging it then or during extraction. I do sometimes like to watch others make fools on themselves and burying 4x4 needlessly and then tearing up their 4x4 or others 4x4's trying to get them out.
