I have a 2000 4x4 V10 ford excursion I want to lift 10-12" in April.
The thing is I am thinking of going with the Whiplash suspension. But today I was reading the forums here and saw the post about Whiplash suspension. now I dont know if I should go to them anymore? Has anyone else delt with whiplash sus.? Does someone know of a good place to get my lift from?p.s it kinda sucks now cuz I already got my new wheels.

DONT MIND MY STUPID CAPS...ITS A LONG STORY BUT THE KIT I WENT WITH IS FABTECH AND FOR ME I WENT WITH A 8" LEAF AND A TWO INCH DROP BRACKET CAUSE THE LESS CURVE IN YOUR LEAFS THE BETTER FOR A TOTAL OF 10" (IT WILL RIDE BETTER)DOES YOUR EXCURSION HAVE LEAF OR COILS CAUSE THATS A TRICKY YEAR BUT IT SHOULD BE THE SAME AS MY 99 F-350 IF IT IS I CAN HELP START TO FINISH ON QUESTIONS IF ITS GOT COILS THEN THEIR IS ALOT OF VERY SMART PEOPLE ON HERE WHO CAN ANSWER THOSE QUESTIONS...ON MINE I DID NOT GO CHEAP,I SPENT 4,000 ON MY LIFT TO DO IT THE RIGHT WAY..ALSO IF YOU GO TO TWELVE I RECOMMEND STEERING ASSIST. BUT IF YOU GO TO TEN YOU CAN SAVE HALF A THOUSAND DOLLARS.

Yes ,if want to lift it that high and go pretty tough like mine and safe dont use blocks in the rear more than a couple inches to level off. Get fabtech leafs at 8 " and not bigger because the less curved the better the ride!! then get drop brackets at two inches or four for the leafs and use a 8 in the rear no big blocks..big blocks have caused problems in our trucks with big lifts.. then get custom trac bars for the rear and not bolted type but the welded type.

A good place to go is www.dunksperformance.com and give them a call the welded trac bars are close to the price of those crappy bolt ons that snap at the brackets. I went to sigle fabtech shocks all the way around with resivours but with out resi is ok and cheaper.

I have 37 tsl swampers and if you plan on going to bigger than 35S you should get gears but  what size depends on how you plan to drive it most the time...If you go to a 4 inch drop bracket which gives you a 12 inch lift then you need steering assit...those two inches make a big differance.

Gears are about 400 a set for front and back axles..to install them you will pay about 200-250 an axle-dont try to do it your self im not doubhting your skills but it takes a very experianced guy to install them....very experianced. but nothings impossible!
Traq bars are a good idea for our trucks and so is a leaf spring lift for the rears in stead of a huge block lift in the rear.(they tend to blow the blocks out the rear of big lifts. If you go with a aftermarket posi they are 250....prices may vary a little. when i did put blocks in rear i used some old blocks to level and then took them out and had the shop weld a solid piece of rectangle tube and top and bottom tops but that is a little over kill but im like that !!

I also had the shop make one of there custom drop brackets for my drop arm but they can be ordered with the kit the total prise was 4,000 but it was worth it for a solid good riding lift and the the extra for my gears! mine is a turbo diesel with larger turbo, bully injectors, juice with attitude tuner,4 inch exaughst turbo back with no muff or dpf filter,k&n intake and tripple loc torque converter on an auto matic tran. call dunks and tell them what your doing and they will tell you what an exact price will be with shipping for kit and options for shocks and there in house built kit trac bars! and when they tell you what it will cost compare to a simular kit and do what you want cause this is just advice from a guy who has his idea of a great setup but id rather have the custom parts like there trac bars and there drop brackets and paid less then the ones with the kit and they were cooler looking and served there purpose whole being beefier! Do you have disk brakes factory in rear?

Any more questions ? just ask there are very knoweledgeable people on here be sides me.  YOUR KIT WILL BE LESS CAUSE MINE WAS INSTALLED AT DUNKS! I didnt have the time and right hydraulic lifts to do at my house! And call your local gear guy to get price on gear setup and hell help you with propper setup for how you use your truck but in guessing you want to keep your freeway speeds in the right order and mileage per gallon of fuel and keep it a good highway rider. if you are going serious mudding then your local gear shop will set you up with some nice low gears!

WITH MY 10" NO CROSS STEERING BUT ON 12" YES AND WITH BIGGER TIRES ITS A MUST..THE STEERING ANGLES GET SCREWED AFTER 10 SO STEERING ASSIST WOULD OF BEEN ABOUT 650 WITH THE ROUTE I WAS GOING TO TAKE! SO I STAYED AT 10 INCHES!
