i have a 1999 ford F-250 Superduty with the auto/ lock hubs and shift on the fly 4x4. when the hubs are in the auto position and i put it in 4HI or 4LO the light on the dash will light up but the front wheels will not spin. but if i turn the hubs to the lock position and put it in 4x4 the wheels will spin. what would be wrong with this and what do i have to do to fix it.

You either have a vacuum leak in the lines connected to the hubs, ripped one off, or have a broken hub/actuator. I would start by looking for leaks or disconnected vacuum lines going to the hubs.
