i am curious of the difference between 3/4 ton and 1 ton frames and suspension. i guess the brake also. i have a 1991 V2500 burb that is now undergoing upgrades. i am thinkin that that the 1 ton has bigger brakes and a stronger suspension but, the frame? i wouldnt think so. let me know...

as far as the frames are concerned they should be the same. the front axle will be diffrent, the rear axle should be a full float. with larger breaks and steering.

RCG, to the best of my knowledge, General Motors never made a 1 ton Suburban. Just 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton. Any Sub that you may have seen running around with a dually rear end were made that way with aftermarket parts. I do know, however, that GM used the corporate 14 bolt in both 3/4 ton and 1 ton applications, Dual and single rear end configutations.

Ok, "brother", here is the scoop.
Taken directly from the page you linked to:
Starting with the third generation C/K models, the Suburban was finally a 4-door vehicle. The rounded corners 1970s body style remained largely unchanged for 18 model years - making this series the longest in production of any Suburban. Both 2WD and 4WD models, designated "C" and "K" were offered, as well as one-half ton and three-quarter ton ("10" and "20" on the Chevy, "1500" and "2500" for GMC) models. The one ton model designation was the C or K 30 for Chevrolet and 3500 for GMC.
Now, what I get from this is absolutely no where does it say that Chevy or GMC ever made a 1 ton Suburban, What id does say is that the one ton designation for Chevy and GMC is 30 and 3500 respectively. This refers to pick up trucks, not Suburbans. If you are so sure that they made a 1 ton, then why doesn't your holy grail article here talk about them? All it even comes close to talking about is General Motors 1 ton designations they give to their 1 ton vehicles. Nowhere in this article does it ever say you could get a 1 ton Suburban except prior to 73 when it was considered a "C 30 panel truck".
So, re-read your own article and tell me where it says there are 1 ton Burbs other than those 2wd models of the 60s.
I don't mean to sound like a dick either, brother.

First of all, those parts specifically say 2500 Suburban, not 3500 Suburban. Secondly, have you or anyone else on this board ever heard or read of a Suburban coming from the factory with a D60 front end? We all know that any solid axle, 1 ton rig came from GM with a D60 front end. I think your 1 ton burb is a unicorn.

No, I am not convinced. Just because you found 3 vehicled for sale, that are CLAIMED to be 3500's, I don't buy it. People sell things they think are something else everyday. I had a guy try to sell me a Dodge Cummins Turbo Diesel that he swore had a V8 Cummins in it! Does that mean it exists just because this obscure guy said so? No, it doesn't. These 3 obscure websites prove absolutely nothing. The likelyhood of the matter is that all 3 of these vehicles are actually 3/4 ton burbs. There was only a picture of 1, and if you are as thorough as I am, then you must have noticed there was no badging on the Fire Dept's burb whatsoever. So, just because someone on some forum that you were able to find says it is a 1 ton suburban doesn't make it so. What you have provided are opinions, not fact.
