I just got a 93 k1500 today, but no owners manual and the old lady I got it off of didn't know anything about it. How do I engage the 4wd? I have a thing that says turn to lock above the parking break. Do I turn it or pull it out to engage the front?

that being the case pul it out and turn it to lock the cable.

Tried that, the four weel diagram lights up as being engaged...still no fronts. Any idea what it might be? You can hear it when it shifts into l4, just no go.

I don't have any way of posting a picture at the moment. What do you need a picture of? Mabey I can describe it for you.

It is the manual engagement that you were talking about. I can tell from looking at a picture of one of those (no pic of one installed though). I'm thinking it's not engaging all the way.

One end of that comes into the cab and has a knob on it so you can push it in and out (and turn to lock it).

Ah, I get it now.

Stupid question but... you're engaging the posi-loc and the t-case at the same time correct?
